So this is an educational post but it's also kind of a vent, cw for self harm
So a lot of people dont think I'm autistic because I ront "act" autistic. Even if you're not using stereotypes, you'd be right for the most part. Around literally everyone, I hide many autistic traits. Cosplay helps- I can show autistic traits and say its "in character"
But I mask it well. Nobody sees me full stim, or have meltdowns, or my lack of tone.
Yesterday I did almost have a meltdown. See More▼ It was over something small. I was getting into cosplay and I have a schedule and it just. Was not working out right. My hands kept twitching and I got frustrated. My memory is blurry after I took my lashes off (which is when I have meltdowns) and I remember my memory going back with my collarbone bruised more (I had one saturday as well) and eyeliner all over my hands.
People dont see these things. Honestly, you're not really going to often in person. But someone could act COMPLETELY neurotypical and still have autism. Please dont say someone doesnt act autistic. I'm so insecure about it I cant even show my autistic traits around my autistic mother, because everyone praises me for not showing them.
