Why do people like anime?

Question

Not asking because I don't like people who like anime, or am going to completely bash it- I'm just curious.
I personally harbor a small grudge against anime because whenever I tell people I animate, the first response I get is "oh, so you do anime?"
Which I don't.
Also, I'm not a huge fan of the general art style, but that's just me.
Anyway, I digress.
Basically, if you like anime, why?
I'm just curious.

because im wierd. also anime has that special tone that just attracts people
