Chores are to help you in the real world. They teach you when you're first out in the world how to take care of where you're living. If they didn't make you take out the trash, or make you sweep the floor, would you know how to do them when you got out into the real world? Most likely not! By law in the United States, (and many other countries), you must go to See More▼ school until you're a certain age. Most parents want you to have a good education and will send you to a school (whether public or private). Most unfortunately cannot afford to quit their job and homeschool their kids.
Also, it would be horrible if you grow up and have kids but have to serve them!
