Emotional blackmail.
It's when someone threatens to hurt themselves if they don't get their way. It's extremely manipulative behaviour. It's TEXTBOOK ABUSE to make threats like "if you don't do x I'll hurt/injure/kill myself." Or "I'm going to hurt/injure/kill myself because you did/said x."
Anything you do to yourself is your choice and you need to take accountability for it. If anyone reading this is ever faced with emotional blackmail, get tf out of that situation and See More▼ tf away from that person. Whatever they do to themselves is NOT their fault. And most of the time it's an empty threat, which again, is not your fault at all.
If someone is doing this, ignore them. Don't give them attention. Don't try to talk them down, don't agree to what they want you to do, literally just ignore them. Any sort of attention reinforces that behaviour. Especially with children.

@M.andrews1 I'm sorry you experienced that. That friend was clearly going through a lot and needed an actual professional to help them. They didn't kill themself because you said no, they killed themself because they had other things going on that they weren't equipped to cope with. It wasn't your fault at all.

Piggybacking on what Brea said, also people who unironically say "crackheads" even though most drug addicts didn't ask to have the said addiction that they do and are trying to get help for it. My mom got addicted to pain pills (she didn't know that she was for years and now she's now made a full recovery thanks to Kratom) and her doctors let her abuse them for years because they didn't know what to do. She had to take them because whenever she didn't she felt tons of pain for See More▼ hours on in. No one can help if they have a drug addiction, now if they completely and explicitly say they don't want to recover then it's a valid reason to be angry at them.
