Hanahaki
The Hanahaki Disease is an aesthetically pleasing fictional concept where a person grows flowers in their lungs due to unrequited love-- Ive notices that it's become a well liked topic on here sooo...

Headcanon that Hanahaki Disease can be brought about by unrequited family love. This is called Multiple Hanahaki, and instead of coughing up flowers, the patient has a tree, to represent a family tree, emerge from their back and they may vomit tree sap.

**Some headcanon a about Hanahaki**
-All of the flowers can hurt worse when being coughed up:
*Small flowers like forget me nots tend to hurt the least
*Other flowers like Dasies tend to hurt more, though they are not the worst
*The worst? Roses. Prickly bastards.
-The Hanahaki Disease begins with symptoms that are much like the fluttery feeling of 'butterflies'. Then it progresses to burning and severe tightness as the flowers bud and bloom.
-It's not just a lung illness; See More▼ Though it affects mainly the lungs, it can spread throughout the chest area, including your stomach and heart.
-People all have different flowers, depending on the type of love and their personality.
-Typically, it's uncommon to cough up dead flower petals unless you've literally been swallowing your own flowers, which can be very dangerous.

I like Hanahaki because it's beautiful in a twisted way.
It also a very accurate representation of love. The flowers actually represent unrequited love. Thy can go away on two conditions; The other person liking you back or surgery that removes your feelings for that person permanently.

It brings angst and aethetics into one and they're my two favourite story topics.
