You ended up sitting beside Jeff. You guys talked a lot, but he seemed shy around you. You wanted him to speak up more, but he tried to avoid it. It either means he likes you, or wants to get away from you. You're figuring this out little by little, then finally say:
"Are you alright?"
Jeff: I'm... Fine.
You: Am I bothering you?
Jeff: No no no. Not at all.
You: Oh, good.
Jeff: I'm just trying to figure out why Ashley brought you here, if you don't even know any of us, and we'd probably scare you, which I was hoping for.
You: I'm happy to meet you guys! I've heard a lot about Urban Legends and Creepypastas, but I didn't believe them. Now I do, and nobody else will. That's amazing. You guys do scare me a bit, but I'm fine.
Jeff: That's good. I don't wanna scare you.
He regretted saying that almost immediately, and looked at you, hoping you didn't take that the wrong way. He sorta blushed and looked away. You know what he meant, and you know he's getting to like you. You just don't know what to say back, so you stay silent for a while.
