Justin Bieber is only successful because his music is that of a mainstream genre.
BVB's not as famous as him because metalcore isn't as widely accepted, but that's not a measurement of talent.
Over 70% of JB's fanbase consists of bratty little girls from ages 7-15, and I don't know if you know this, but little girls typically have p*ss-poor music tastes. People See More▼ typically don't start developing a true style and real taste in music until they're in secondary school.
