CorneliusHackl added a new chapter to Cursed by Death
Chapter 4
I grab Dad's hand as we walk down the sidewalk. He sighs. "Callista, why are you squeezing my hand?"
"I need to keep you safe," I mutter.
Dad stops walking and turns to me. "Oh, sweetheart. I'm okay. Amber died because she suffered from depression, and Mom is sick because she didn't make good food choices. You don't have to worry about me."
I groan. "But, Dad-"
I'm cut off by screams. Someone is running toward us. "Go! Go! He has a gun!" they're screami... Read Full Chapter

I'm going to write a story about what it's like to have different mental disorders (anxiety, depression, OCD, etc) and each chapter is going to be someone who has that disorder telling about what it's like.
IF YOU HAVE:
-depression
-OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)
-bipolar disorder
-autism
-PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder See More
-schizophrenia
-social anxiety (NOT general anxiety)
-SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder)
And are willing to participate in this, please PM me answers to these questions:
1. What mental disorder do you have?
2. In 1-2 sentences, what is this disorder?
3. In at least a few sentences, what is it like to have this mental disorder?
4. What are some things that people should NOT say/do to you? What are some things that are good/okay to say/do to you?
5. What are some things that you think people should know about this disorder? Are there any common misconceptions you want to set straight?
EXAMPLE (I'm doing general anxiety, but don't write yours about general anxiety because I'm already doing that chapter) :
1. General anxiety
2. It's means that a person gets worried about small things and has irrational fears. They might also dislike social situations.
3. It feels like there's this voice in my head that makes me worry about everything. Even when I know there's nothing to be scared of, it convinces me that I should be terrified. Some days, I just want to be alone at home, and I have a panic attack when I must leave the house. I also extremely dislike changes made to plans, even if the plans are a couple weeks away.
4. DON'T tell me "don't worry." DON'T tell me that my fears are irrational. DON'T tell me that there's "nothing to worry about." DON'T force me to enter a situation that I am anxious about (unless it cannot be avoided). DON'T disregard my panic attacks as "tantrums." DO sit with me/hug me when I'm having a panic attack. DO let me be alone if I ask.
5. People should know that I can't just "calm down" and "stop worrying." People should also know that I KNOW this bad thing probably won't happen, but I'm thinking, "What if it will?" and I'm certain that it will.

Asperger's is quite similar to autism, so I could do a chapter about it if you wanted me to. But it's also different from it in some ways, so if you don't want me to then that's fine. ☺

@Danks yeah- THIS is the way to teach kids the periodic table! (Now I've memorized up to Californium.) I also saw a video where dogs carry different colored balls and stuff representing protons and electrons and neutrons, and they teach you about cells. It explained it 10 times better than my school did!
