Safe Escape WWFFY part 1
Shadow
You couldn't sleep. At one point you could feel someone in the room. Footsteps approached the bed.
“I know you're awake.”
You forced yourself to look at the figure beside the bed.
It was another hedgehog, this one male, black. "Didn't mean to scare you" He admitted. "I was curious to see who everyone was fussing over.” You blink. "Don't you speak?" He had a frown on his face. You shook your head. For the past year, no one talked to you, so why bother? He grunts. "I'm Shadow, ultimate life form." You nod and make a mental note of his name. You both stare off into the distence for a while before Shadow nudged your foot. "Have you met Sonic yet?" You shake your head. "Good, lucky you" You giggled a little. "So, you can make noise..." He inspects clearly amused he made you laugh. You kept laughing quietly, not wanting to be loud. He got off the bed and turned to face you again, his face black and cold. "the echidna told me that they found you in an alley.” You nodded. "Why were you in an alley?” You looked away from him, spying a notepad and pen on the nightstand. You grabbed them and wrote. I was out for a walk. He studied your face a moment. “Were you on your way home?” You nodded. "Sapphire will let you go soon" He says “she might also want you to stay a little longer. She has a thing for helping people, so she'll want to know you're safe.” Your heart sank slightly. You didn't want to be a burden on them. Shadow seemed to notice the shift in your mood, and he laid a hand on your bed, “You'll be home soon" You wrote “Thanks” down on the paper. Shadow nods. He walked to the door and opened it, looking back at you before stepping out into the hallway. “ring the bell if want someone to talk to” He left. The smile wouldn't leave your face but you knew you shouldn't get too attached. Hopefully tomorrow Sapphire would let you leave. You didn't want them figuring out that you were homeless.
