The Doll Room. (A Short Horror Story)

The Room

You sit in a room, surrounded by music boxes.

One by one, the music boxes play their tunes, each one more haunting then the last.

Shadows dance throughout the room, their feet never touching the ground, their footsteps silent and slow.

Dolls sit on the small shelves that decorate the room, talking with each other with words of a language long forgotten, and unknown.

The wall paper is ripped and ruined.

The wooden floors are cold as ice.

As you are being swallowed into the shadows you see a small girl at the corner of the room, her white eyes looking straight at you.

She is smiling, black liquid drips slowly from her lips.

She starts pointing at something behind you; you turn around and gasp when you see...

You meet a pair of pale eyes.

Nothing more.

Just pale eyes looking right into your helpless soul.

You now noticed, as you turned around again.

The dolls has moved.

They were now behind you.

The girl started to talk.

"I sit here alone,  in her old room.

I used to be her favorite doll,  until she met Drew.

Drew is a nice doll.

And I can't blame him for admiring her.

But she was mine first!

I was her favorite first!

Her laugh, her smile, the way she looked at me when she first got me.

Mine!

Why did she leave me for HIM?!

Why him?

Why not stay here, and play with me....forever?"

As soon as you blinked all the dolls had moved in front of you.

And they stare into your soul, the clock chimes midnight, then... at the last moment it takes you and keeps you prisoner of eternal terror.

As soon as you wished for someone to rescue you.

Then, the door creaks open.
