Q & A about my religion (Christianity) + Stories

I got bored, so I decided why not?? PLEASE NOTE: If I can not answer a specific question, that does not mean it is unanswerable. I am still a student who is learning. ALSO: different denominations have different takes on controversial matters. I do not speak for all denominations. I speak for myself and my understanding of my religion.

Chapter 1

PLEASE NOTE: If I can not answer a specific question, that does not mean it is unanswerable. I am still a student who is learning. ALSO: different denominations have different takes on controversial matters. I do not speak for all denominations. I speak for myself and MY understanding of my religion.

Q: Who does God love?

A: God loves everyone, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, regardless of whatever bad things you have done. He loves EVERYONE, even the devil. God IS love.

Q: If God loves everyone so much, why do bad things (death, sickness) happen?

A: When Adam & Eve ate the forbidden fruit, it was the first sin. When they left the garden, they became mortal, and since now they are no longer protected in the garden they are susceptible to death, and sickness (caused by earthly factors such as uncleanliness/poor diet etc.).

Q: If God loves us so much, why wouldn't he stop Adam & Eve from eating the fruit?

A: He told them not to eat it, it was a test of their obedience. He also gave them free will, the ability to choose who to listen to. Him or the devil. Unfortunately, Adam & Eve chose the devil.

Q: If God is so real, why doesn't he just show himself?

A: He HAS shown himself to many people, and He has performed many great signs throughout history. However, humans tend to have short memories, and in this modern age, it is often played off as "phenomena" or simply not talked about. For some reason more people seem to be content with the belief that once they die, they die. This also gives them the freedom to sin and do as they please without fear of repercussion. It's also well to note that if He were to simply show up in the sky in all His glory, there is no doubt everyone would believe.

**He wants us to choose Him. We chose to turn away, so we must chose to come back. If He were to reveal Himself like that, how is our belief a choice?**

Q: What happens when I die?

A: If you believe and trust in Jesus, you will be brought back to life, and will live on the new Earth with God and Jesus. Yes, I know everyone thinks you go to Heaven which is in the cloud, this is technically true, because at the end of days God brings heaven to Earth, and remakes Earth to be perfect.

Q: What is the new Earth/heaven like?

A: It is described in the Bible (I'm not going to talk about witness accounts, because there are a LOT) as the most perfect place in existence. Let me describe further:

- We will get new bodies. (But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. (Philippians 3:20-21))

- There is no death, no pain, nothing negative.( "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes ; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying or pain" (Revelation 21:4))

- God will live among us, as will Jesus, and we will each get special rooms in the house of God. ("My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4You know the way to the place where I am going.”  (John 14:2-4))

- There is no marriage in Heaven. (Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven." (Matthew 22: 29-30))

- Heaven is beautiful (And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass. And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. (Revelation 21:21-25 )) (The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, clear as glass. (Revelation 21:18))

All in all it is so amazing that we can not even imagine what it is like. We'll just have to wait and see! (But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9))

@Rosie_rikku Not if you believe in Jesus Christ. If you go to hell, it's for the same reason as everyone else who goes to hell: not believing, or believing and hating God. Everyone sins, every day, but Jesus died for our sins, He cleanses us. Believe in Him and do your best to be a God person and follow the laws God set for us, and you will spend eternity in See More▼
