Maraya's Big Dream: The Sequel

Maraya's Big Dream: The Sequel

This is a sequel to the previous story "Maraya's Big Dream" that I wrote last summer. In this story, Maraya dreams of running into her best friend, Ms. Carolyn, again but this time it's in a different place and that place is in Maraya's favorite restaurant: BK.

Chapter 3.

Eating in the BK

"Okay, girls, we're here," grandma Debbie told the Adams sisters as they all got out of the silver Forerunner to go into the restaurant. When they all got into the restaurant, Maraya thought about ordering her own food to the cashier in front of her grandma and sister.

"Hello," the cashier greeted. "What can I get all of you?"

Luckily, Maraya didn't tell her grandma her order, so that means that she can order her food all by herself. So they all took turns with grandma Debbie ordering first, then Haley, and then Maraya. When it was Maraya's turn, she started to order her own food independently. "Can I get a Whopper® with onion rings, zesty sauce, and a large drink?"

"Sure, here you go," the cashier answered as she gave her a large styrofoam cup that had the colorful Burger King logo on it.

Maraya was super happy. "Thank you!"

After practicing her ordering skills for the cashier, her grandma and sister were proud. "We're so proud of you for ordering your own food independently, babycakes."

"Thanks, guys," she said to them.

Then they walked away to find a good table to eat at. Of course while Maraya was looking at her phone, two customers that she knew came into the restaurant and her sister recognized. "Look, Maraya, it is your special friends."

Maraya gasped when she heard what Haley said. "They are?"

"Yeah," Haley replied as she did the gesture that meant "come here". After the couple finished ordering their food, they came to her and Maraya so she can see them. Like the person she dreamt of last summer, it was the same bleach blonde-haired woman with blue eyes that Maraya knew along with her golden brown-haired blue-eyed husband who was at least three years younger than her.

And then it happened. Haley recorded Maraya's reaction of seeing her special best friends on Maraya's smartphone so she can post it to Facebook later. "Hey, Maraya."

In no time at all, she recognized the woman's voice like if she were a completely blind person in such a big place (Maraya's not completely blind, she's only visually impaired!). "Ms. Carolyn! Mr. Danny!"

Ms. Carolyn laughed as she hugged Maraya. "Hey, Maraya, I see that you got a haircut."

"Yep, I did," Maraya told her. "I got it a week before I graduated."

"That's cool," she added.

As all of you should also know in last summer's dream, Maraya recently finished her junior year at Northgate and Ms. Carolyn finished another year of special needs school bus driving, but sadly, during Maraya's senior year, Ms. Carolyn got really sick and had to get another heart surgery (it was her second one) because there was something wrong with her heart again. Then after having to stay in the hospital for 24 days just for that one surgery, she was going to go back to driving her bus, but she didn't make it, so she decided to retire, which made Maraya really, really sad and made her senior year more stressful. It was a wise choice for her to make to graduate in 2019 instead of having to go to school for another year and graduate in 2020 because she had enough of her year becoming more and more stressful everyday. Also, Maraya was very lucky to not have any surgeries yet, even though her parents are planning to take her to get laser eye surgery for her right eye and to take her off her seizure medicine. She was also very happy that she got to leave Northgate the same year as Ms. Carolyn, the former school bus driver of 158M. That's how she knew that they were really best friends.

After thinking about another flashback, she offered her and Mr. Danny to join Maraya and her family for lunch. "Would you and Mr. Danny like to join me and my family for lunch?"

"Sure, that would be nice," replied Ms. Carolyn.

Then when grandma Debbie came back with the food, Maraya called her grandma's name and asked her. "Hey, grandma, can Ms. Carolyn and Mr. Danny join us for lunch?"

"Sure, I don't see why not," she answered.

"Yes!" Maraya smiled again.

As soon as Mr. Danny got his and Ms. Carolyn's food, they all started to eat together. Ms. Carolyn also got the same order as Maraya, which was a Whopper® with onion rings, zesty sauce, and a large styrofoam cup full of sweet tea that had the colorful Burger King logo on it. Maraya loved to be like Ms. Carolyn.

The big lunch went very well because after lunch, Maraya, Ms. Carolyn, and Mr. Danny all order some chocolate fudge sundaes for dessert. Next, grandma Debbie and older sister Haley took pictures of them together, including a group photo with Maraya, her special best friends, and themselves. When everything was done, Maraya said goodbye to Ms. Carolyn and Mr. Danny and also thanked them for joining her and her family. "Bye, Ms. Carolyn. Bye, Mr. Danny. Thanks for joining us for lunch!"

After they left, Maraya, Haley, and their grandma also left, too, so they can all get in the silver Toyota Forerunner and can go back home down yonder in the boondocks.
