The Wedding

The Wedding

I froze as he backed away toward his thrown with the grin of a predator who has caught his prey. He nodded his head and a small army of maids rushed me out of the room and up to the tower. They filled up a bath with warm water and undid my hair so the red waves pooled around my waist before pushing me into the bath. They washed my hair with rose water and added some to the cooling water. After while they helped me from the tub and covered me in a plush towel before rushing me to the mirror. They brushed out the waves pinned in in delicate coils before tucking some blue flowers into the pins. They added some rouge and pencil around my eyes before going into the many trunks. They pulled out a white gown that had long sleeves and a dropped waist. When I was in it the pulled out a veil and covered the front of the gown. My dreams were haunted by ghosts with booming voices with soldiers and death. When I awoke in a cold sweat my first thought was that he was fighting towards me but I knew that couldn't be true. I warned him not to come after me.
I touched my lips and remembered the kiss but I had to stop because the maids returned with them was a ice blue gown with gems all over. They braided my hair up added a flower and sent me out to meet the general.
"The King has left to end the uprisings. He will return in three days," He explained
