Me and my girlfriend Kim were at a casino one night. It was the night after America had suffered from a terrorist attack. It was all over every major news station. We needed a break however to get our minds away from the terror and horror of what our world was becoming. Kim played on the slot machines, She was doing relatively good she had won a couple hundred dollars. While I was playing poker at one of the poker tables. Our dealers name was Francois.He had a cool and interesting story of being in Vietnam in the war. There was a man playing with us his name was frank. He kept getting all the great cards. I was loosing but didn't really care the way I saw it I was playing for fun I wasn't the type of person to take gambling very serious like most people and I had a set limit of money I take with me and once it's gone then it's gone.
Anyway it was about 11 at night. I had gotten up from the game and went over to the bar and got some drinks for me and my wife. I walked over towards the penny machines where she was playing. I found her and placed one of the drinks in front of her. " thank you" she said smiling at me and taking a sip of the alcohol. She had just won $50 more dollars when a loud noise hit the casino it echoed through the hallways the casino went from being extremely loud with over a couple thousand people's conversations to completely silent as another loud noise echoed this time I new what it was it was the sound of Gun shots! Five men approached the casino wearing masks and screaming while pointing the guns at innocent people. One of the men screamed "No one has to die all we want is the money and all of it!" We saw another guy locking the casino doors. "Don't think about being a hero or you will end up with a bullet in your head!" The man yelled. Another man took his gun and started to shoot at the ceiling. We all jumped. "Get on your knees!" He screamed. Everyone in the casino was soon on there knees.
Now I'm going to walk over to each of you and you will put the money you have in the sack or I will kill you!" The man said. And he and another one of the robbers started walking down the line of people as we all put our hard earned money into the sack. He approached me I put the money in the sack. And he looked at my wife. She looked away. The robber coughed in her direction. "Honey give him the money." My wife then looked at the robber and gave him all the money she had. The robbers continued to Rob everyone in the casino, it was the scariest forty-Five minutes of our life we thought the robbers were going to kill us instead they said "Now that wasn't so bad was it? We are leaving now and throwing out smoke Grenades to ensure us a safe escape if any of you call the police before we escape
Men were all gone. The casino security called the police and the police came and did an investigation on what happened. Me and Kim left the casino got in our car and drove home. Later that night all over the news was reports about the casino and people giving there interviews on what happened. The chief of police gave a statement swearing he and the entire police force would find out who these people were who robbed everyone and would arrest them and give everyone there money back. To me my biggest concern was not the
Money or even the robbers.
My concerns were what was this world coming too where you can't even go to a casino anymore for fun without the fear of getting robbed? Much less you can't sit through a movie or even go to school without the threat of someone somewhere waiting for the right time to strike. If America can't get a hold on this problem soon then I very well fear for the future. This problem will only get worse throughout the years we need to put an end to this once and for all but how? It's easy to say "public killing" but we would just be stooping to there levels. This world deserves better for not just us but our future kids. This makes me think we are not truly safe anywhere and that is a major problem.
