silence (undertale fanfic)

among the flowers

I open my eyes to warm light. I feel something soft underneath me. Flowers...

I sit up. Where am I?

I stand up to get a better view around me.

Did I fall down here? Whatever here was?

‘Are you okay?’

I jump a little.

“Who there?”

‘Sorry if I scared you. I’m Chara’

I look around and all I see are tall pillars reaching up into darkness. But I don’t see anyone.

“Where are you?” I ask. “I can’t see you.”

I hear someone sigh. ‘Of course you can’t see me. I’m a ghost.'

Ghost? That sounds cool. “Can you walk through walls?”

‘I’m not that type of ghost. Though it would be cool if I could do that.’
I notice something in front of me. Do you know how to get out of here?

‘Kind of. This place is a lot different than I remember though…’

Chara leads me into a different area. This area was dark all except in an area which had a golden flower.

“Howdy!”

I froze. Did that flower just talked to me?!

‘I think so…why don’t you go near it?’

“I’m flowey. Flowey the flower!” the flower says as I approach.

“Uh... Hi?” I say.

The flower looks and smiles at me. “You’re new to the Underground aren’tcha?”

I nod.  “Golly you must be confused!”  By a lot of things.

“Someone ought to teach you how things work around here!” Flowey says.

“I guess little old me will have to do!” he winks. “Ready? Here we go!!”

When he says that the area starts getting darker. What’s going on?

‘you’re about to get into fight mode.'  Fight mode??

A heart appear from my chest. It was glowing bright red “What’s this?”

“See that heart? That is your SOUL, the very culmination of your being!” flowey says.
I nod so he continues.

“Your soul starts of weak, but can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV.”

‘LV? I don’t think you should trust this flower…’

“What's LV stand for? Why, LOVE, of course!” he smiles. “You want some LOVE, don't you?”

“…yes?”

“Don’t worry. I'll share some with you!” as soon as he says that a white shining pellet appears...

“Down here, LOVE is shared through...” more appears. “Little white… ‘Friendliness pellets’.”

He looks at me. “Are you ready?” I shrug a little. “Move around! Get as many as you can!”

I move around trying my best to catch a ‘friendliness pellet.’

But as soon as I catch one I feel a shock wave of pain.    ‘Ouch!’  

My soul glows dimmer than before.

You felt that too?

‘Yea.... I don’t know how though.... maybe because I’m connected to you somehow from your soul…”

What??
“You idiot…”

I snap my attention back at flowey who face was changing. Suddenly I felt scared watching as flowey laugh at my pain.

“In this world, it's kill or BE killed.” Flowery says. “Why would ANYONE pass up an opportunity like this?!”

‘Frisk... Run!’

I try to run but ‘friendliness pellets’ surround me before I can go anywhere.



“DIE!”



The pellets circle in getting closer,

                                                              And closer

And closer…


                                                And closer…..

Before the pellets…


Disappear? Wha?


‘Frisk look.'

I look and see my soul glowing brightly again.

“Huh?” flowey looks around for the missing pellets. Before he could say anything a fire flame comes and blasts him into the unknown darkness.

What just happened?

‘I don’t know…’

I hear footsteps coming towards me. I look up to see a goat looking monster creature.

“What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth.” It says.

The monster looks at me. “Ah, do not be afraid, my child.” She says. “I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins.”

“…hello?” I say back.

“I pass through this place every day to see if anyone has fallen down.” Toriel says. “You are the first human to come here in a long time.”

“Come! I will guide you through the catacombs.” When she says that my soul disappears and the area returns to normal.

She leads me to a doorway and goes through it. I look back before going through.

We enter a purple room with silver stairs and red leaves beside them. I notice something shining in the pile of leaves.

As I get closer I see a yellow star. What is this?

‘That’s a saving point’

A what?

‘Just touch it.’

Okay…

I soon as I touch it I see a screen in front of me.


(The shadow of the ruins looms above, filling you with determination.)
