Chapter 4.

Chapter 3

Training starts now. The first obstacle they have us go through is swimming through a pool of poisonous piranhas without being bitten. After that they did make us dig for the antidote to their poison, just in case.
Next we have to sneak past a sleeping dragon, we can get around it however we want so I float around it as fast as I can without making any noise that could wake the dragon.
Now we have to dodge bolts of lightning while digging for the key to the next obstacle.
The next obstacle is being locked inside a force field with a bunch of angry gorillas and if you touch the force field before it deactivates after a minute of you in there it zaps you right to the gorillas and you have to find your way around that. I got stuck in the force field with Asher.
“Scared?” He asks.
“Not at all, I can deal with a few gorillas. I bet you couldn’t deal with it if you got zapped,” I reply.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, challenge accepted,” he says and charges right at the wall. He gets zapped at the gorillas and struggles with the fact that they were holding him back as the force field opens, I get out and it closes on him right when Amy and Timmy get in.
“That must be embarrassing,” says Timmy.
“I can’t imagine that,” says Amy, “tricked by a girl.”
Asher finally gets away from the gorillas just in time for the force field to open again and now everyone has completed our first challenge in the training room.
“I win,” I say when he gets to me.
“Fine, I guess a girl might be able to win this,” he says, “What do you want for winning?”
“I want you to buy me a smoothie on the weekend,” I reply.
“Ok, I’ll see you at noon in the hallway in front of our dormitories.”
I walk back to our dormitory with Amy.
“Why do you want him to take you out for a smoothie?” asks Amy, “Do you like him?”
“Maybe, maybe not,” I reply.
“Oh come on, I know you want that smoothie to be the first of many dates, just admit it.”
“Ok, fine, you're right. I liked him when I saw him in the office ok, but I think after I tricked him he won’t like me, so I’m forcing him to go on a date with me.”
We get back to the dormitory and change out of our training clothes and into our school robes.
Classes go by extremely slowly. Luckily it’s Thursday so I only have two days until I get a free smoothie.
After our very last class of the day, potions, Amy, Timmy, Asher and I all walked back to our dormitories together. I think Amy might be right about Asher liking me, but I could be wrong.
I wake up this morning to my owl on my head with a letter attached to his foot. I open the letter and read:
Dear Penny,
I hope you are having a good time. Fred got a spot on the wizard soccer team like he wanted. Please write back about how classes and training have been. Have you made any new friends? The man who questions people for the Tournament of Champions told us his son Asher is in the tournament, have you met him? Winter break will be here before you know it, we’ll see you then!

Ellie Cooper

I grab a piece of paper and begin to write:

Dear Ellie,
I have met Asher, I won a bet against him and now he has to buy me a smoothie. I have made a new friend, her name is Amy and my first day here was great. How is everyone? I can’t wait for Winter break!

Penny Cooper

I tie the letter to my owl Harry’s leg and he flies right out my window in the direction of home.
“Who was the letter from?” says Amy, I didn’t even know she was awake.
“My sister, she wanted to know how things were here, who all my new friends were and if I had met Asher,” I reply.
“Oh, well we’d better get to breakfast,” says Amy.
So we go eat breakfast, it’s delicious once again. This morning it’s pancakes with bacon and sausages with maple syrup. After breakfast we go change into our training gear and head upstairs to the training room, Asher and Timmy are already there.
Today we are working in teams and whoever is organising this has paired me with Asher.
“Just to be clear, I’m taking you to get a smoothie tomorrow,” says Asher.
“I know, I was just gonna make sure you knew my smoothie day preferences,” I say before the computer that is instructing us tells us what to do.
“You have smoothie day preferences?” he asks.
“Obviously,” I respond following that answer with an amazing take down, that’s what we’re doing today, take downs.
“Look, Penny, I have something to tell you,” says Asher, “ever since I saw you in my dads office, I’ve kind of liked you, so could we think of the smoothie tomorrow as a first date?”
“I was going to say the same thing so, I think you know my answer,” I say.
We finish training again and school as usual is pretty boring, but relaxing after training for such a hard tournament, anyways now that schools over I’d better make sure I have something to wear tomorrow.

I know it's kind of my own spin off of Harry Potter. I'm working on it though I actually learned from an author that starting with other people's stories can help your own writing too
