Goodbye

I stared down at the gravestone in front of me with a gaping hole in my heart. I flashed back to what she did every time I closed my eyes. She died for me because she loved me and it took years for me to even talk to her again. I had finished him then when I let loose pure energy that destroyed him for good. We all sat around her saying goodbye. Adrian and been holding me up because I was so weak but Jaclyn was my big sister. When she stopped breathing I had to cry against his shoulder and with each tear I shed since then I remembered everything she had done for me. When I was four she helped me do my pigtails everyday and always put in a little purple bow on each one. When I was eight she ran me down the street so I could learn to ride my bike. She never missed a birthday or graduation. She always was there for me even when I didn't want her to be.
"It gets better you know," a voice said in my ear. I held the arms that circled my waist and turned to give a chaste kiss.
"I know but it still hurts,"I whispered.
"I think it always will," he said leaning his head on my shoulder. He and I had really fallen for each other. He had a way of balancing me out. While I was cautious and slow he was sudden and impulsive. He always listened to me but told me the truth he didn't sugar coat anything. When she died he held me for however long it took me to stop crying. I have no idea how long that was but it felt like awhile. He was also very involved in wedding planning, just joking. The two of us stayed out of it Bailee did all the planing and organizing.
"I have to go to my last dress fitting in ten minutes you know," I whispered back.
"LACEE WHERE ARE YOU?" Baliee shouted from the porch. I turned and smiled at Adrian.
"Make that thirty seconds," I said and laughed spinning out of his arms. He pulled me back and planted one giant kiss before letting me go.
"Dork!" I shouted as I walked away.
"I love you," he shouted back.
"I love you too," I shouted back when I closed the door. Bailee attacked me shuffling through the motions but all i could think about was my happy ending. That felt selfish but I knew that it was time for me to try and move on from the pain. I wanted to live my life.
