My feet carried me

rather than my mind. I ran all the way to the beach and picked up my dress. I ripped off the skirt and let my wings out then collapsed to the ground crying. I felt the sand in my toes and the salty spray in my face. I heard someone come up behind me and I jumped up. It was just my sisters and seeing them look so sympathetic made me break down all over again. They hugged me and we sank into the sand as I cried looking out at the ocean. Kadin came out soon after and he was furious but saw me collapsed with a tear streaked face he stopped cold. I knew I looked pitiful but I felt like my world was crumbling so I didn't care. He stood there awkwardly not knowing if he should hug me or leave me be. Before he could decide Radcliff came out with bloody knuckles shouting at the top of his lungs.
"I'm going to kill him I swear," he shouted over an over until Mabelle got up grabbed him by the collar and slapped him.
"Shut up!" she yelled at him but I was already flying off when I looked down the girls had extended their wings as well. I flew over to our old summer cottage and when I landed the girls were close behind. We went inside and a man was lounging on the couch. The girls took defensive positions while he seemed to undress me with his eyes.
"You can calm down ladies I'm only here to meet my fiance," he said sarcastically. We had pulled in our wings when we landed but he still looked at me like he knew my deepest secret.
"Get out," Jacalyn growled while pulling me behind her.
"My name is Adrian by the way and I don't want this either Lacee," he said and left slamming the door behind him.
"I think it would be time to say that I wouldn't mind marrying him," Sabina said. We laughed for real for the first time in a while and it felt nice.
