Wire

Here's Wire's story because I'm bored.

Wire is a medium sized dog, white- excepting a black stripe where his neck and back meet- and with red eyes. No, he's not albino. He just has red eyes and (mostly) white fur.

As a pup, he always wanted to be a "scientist", as he called it. He actually wanted to be an engineer, but enjoyed all of the branches of science nonetheless. He always wore a pair of blue plastic goggles, and this- combined with his overall intelligence and shy personality- made him the target of bullying. Wire didn't really mind... he just went on and experimented whenever he could. These "experiments" were silly as a child, but as he got older they grew in importance and complexity.

Flash forward to when Wire was 18. He had chosen to go into the field of bioengineering, specializing in prosthetics. Every few months, he'd hear of a gravely injured individual. His first case was Stitches. Stitches wasn't the patient's original name, but nobody had recognized him (and the patient didn't remember after recovering), so he decided his name would be Stitches. Wire's operation on Stitches was a big one- possibly the biggest one of Wire's career, for Stitches had been gravely injured by a bear trap- but it went flawlessly.

Later on, another patient- Trevor- came in. He had been born without one of his legs. Again, the operation went quite well, and a fully functional prosthetic leg was put on Trevor's body. Trevor was quite thrilled with the result!

Wire's career was going amazingly... until Cause came along. Nothing was inherently wrong with Cause, nor with Wire. Cause had been hit by a truck, and Wire worked day and night to heal him, but his body rejected the artificial organs Wire tried to transplant. Cause died after several days. Wire managed to revive him, but was still unable to fully heal Cause, leaving him with several gaps in his body, with bone showing in various places. Cause wasn't too happy, but accepting of the situation, being glad to remain alive... or so he thought.

Wire, overcome with shame, promptly quit his career in bioengineering. Several days later, he went over to a bridge in his town, intending to kill himself...
Luckily, someone showed up to stop him.

His name was Alley. Alley was an orange wolf (with brown stripes) of relatively small stature, wearing a black top hat. Alley didn't know what Wire was planning to do at first- he just saw a sad, lonely dog who needed a friend. However, after talking a few minutes, Alley suddenly realized that Wire was planning to kill himself. It hadn't been said- he just knew... and without saying a word about it just the same, he just put his arm around Wire. Wire cried for the first time since he was a pup. The two became close friends after that.

Even though Wire didn't go through with suicide, he began self-harming. Having gone into engineering and mechanics, he explained that the bandages that perpetually covered his forelegs(??) were covering up injuries from his building whenever Alley asked. However, one day, Alley asked Wire to take the bandages off- he figured Wire's injuries had healed by then (it had been a few months), so why was he still wearing those bandages?

Alley didn't quite know how to respond when he saw those cuts.

"Wire... what is this?"

Wire confessed he had been cutting himself. Alley pulled him into a giant hug, crying and saying that Wire should have told him he had been feeling like this. Wire began crying as well, and he promised to try to stop.

Several months later, it had been a year after they had met. Alley had moved into Wire's house- to save money, and besides, Wire liked having him around. The two went to the bridge... the same bridge where Wire's life had been saved a year before.

I would go into more detail, but I'm lazy, so I'm just going to say that Wire thanked Alley for saving his life, and gay things may or may not have followed. It was very soft and fluffy and whatever.

Anyway, that's Wire's story.
