My Emetophobia Story
by Jada Shakira Webster (Elory), age 11.It was March 16th 2015, when I was in Year 3. I woke up not feeling very well, but I didn't tell my parents because I couldn't bear to talk about feeling sick and those kinds of things. I only has 2 tiny bites of my toast.
When I got to school, I managed to ask a teacher if I could have some water because I felt sick, but before that (this part is CRINGE so beware), my nausea caused me to burp and she just turned around and stared at me with these big eyes. But she said I could have a drink. I'd heard that water helps so I drank lots as quickly as possible, but I didn't know that you had to drink it in the opposte way, slowly in small sips. Oops!
By the time assembly came round (darn Monday assemblies) I felt too sick to go but the teacher was insisting 'You have to go to assembly.' and while we were walking to assembly, a teacher said something to me, and I don't remember what it was but when I turned round to answer a tiny bit of sick just comes out my mouth and on the floor. Ew.
So that's how I got emetophobia, vomiting pretty much terrified me since that day...and it still does.
