Chapter 2.

a new family

When we got to their house I was shivering. “achoo.” I sneezed. “Bless you. Get inside quickly.” Katniss said. I did as she said. I looked at Peeta then at Katniss. I shouldn’t be here. I thought. No one cares what happens to someone with no family.  But I was in for a surprise. They did care.
“Come with me.” Peeta said. I was scared but I followed him. “Wh…..What do you want with me. Am……Am I in trouble.” I said in a shaky voice. Peeta just looked at me. “Not yet.” He said in a friendly voice. He had seen the confusion on my face. He just laughed.
“We need to get you out of these rags you’re in. How long have you been wearing these? How long have you been on your own? But first thing I want you to answer is what’s your name?” Peeta said.
I didn’t want to answer all those questions. And I didn’t know how to answer some of them. I tried not to answer them but he got on to me. “Young lady I’m trying to help you. You need to answer my questions so that I can. Now start talking. I mean it.” Peeta said in a harsh voice.
I started to cry. I yanked myself away from Peeta. I had no where to run or to hide. I went to a corner, curled myself into a ball, and cried for a long time. I needed to talk and he wanted to help me. Maybe I should let him.
