Him and moving

But we knew we couldn't keep the act up forever. "I know its hard to believe you two are actually getting along," Mom told us. "But it's lunchtime," she walked in holding a plate of sandwiches cut into little squares and stacked into a pyramid of peanut butter and warm honey sandwiches. Once she left we began to eat our sandwiches, taking them apart and giving each other the halves we enjoyed. I got honey while he got the peanut butter, I don't know what it was with him and peanut butter but he loved the weird sweet and salty spread. Then again i probably looked weird eating plain bread and honey. Once we actually finished i yawned and flopped down on our couch, today had been tiring so i closed my eyes to rest for a moment. Hart took this as an invite to shake me, guess he was still awake. "Lilli!" he pestered me. I cracked a small smile and kept my eyes closed as he shook me harder and harder. I knew he'd give up eventually as i drifted off to a world where anything could happen.
I believe about a few hour later i awoke to see my brother had wandered into his room right by the playroom. I sat up a little too quickly and nearly fell back down but i stayed upright by clutching onto the couch arm. I could overhear my mom talking to someone so i got up and walked to her room. "Hey mo-" My voice trailed off as I saw her and an unknown man with her. He had a beard and long black hair. Mom looked to me and smiled. "Lilli!" she said as if she was caught in the act of something. "Who-?" I asked. "His name is Scott!" she said with a big smile warmer than the sun. I looked from her to the guy, whom waved my way with a grin. Even worse than his appearance his teeth were all crooked and yellow. I forced a smile and a small wave. "Nice to-" My mom interrupted me yet again. "That's my daughter, Lilliana!" She giggled like an elementary student. I kinda just gave up and walked away from her doorway after that. Who was this guy? Was he my dad? he couldn't be my father he looked nothing like my dad.
whoever this guy was i had a feeling he was bad news.
Years and months pass and I have grown to trust Scott. He scared me a little, especially when me and my brother fought and it pissed him off but I loved him nonetheless. I felt as if i had someone i could trust. He was fun too he'd take us to the lake where we would swim and he and my mom would kiss. Gross but it was okay by me. As long as i got the attention my mom failed to give me. One day he and my mom came into the playroom while me and Hart were playing with our play kitchen supplies. "Guess what?" Mom announced. Me and my brother looked to each other quizzically and then looked to the adults. "We're moving to Colorado!" Scott said. "Your mom found a better job out there," he said putting an arm around my mom's waist and kissing her on the cheek. Hart stuck his tongue out at that. "Gross..." he muttered, but they ignored him. "Colo-what?" I asked curiously. "Colorado," Scott said looking to me. "Coloradeo..." i muttered. A new start, maybe i could actually leave these bullies behind that would shove me down and tell me i was worthless. I smiled. Yeah i could live with that. "When are we moving?" I asked. "In a couple weeks, when school's over." I grinned. This would be the right amount of time for me to tell my best friend, Ash, goodbye and flip the bullies off before we left. I couldn't wait for this new adventure. New friends, new people, and maybe my chance to do something else than play all day.
I will spare you the boring details but i did curse out the bullies on the last day, got in trouble and told id be kept after-school, but did i stay that long? No my mom picked me and Hart up before they could tell her that i was to be kept afterwards. This was the beginning i was waiting for, the end of the Maryland chapter and beginning of my new fourth grade life. I couldn't wait to get there! Before we left i hugged my childhood friends and cried a little before I left. As me and Hart piled into the backseat of the Van we waved as if it was our last meeting. Our final goodbye before our departure. We hugged each other and cried into each other's shoulders once again it was just me and him against the world, and our parents, and the chaos yet to come.
