Chapter 2.
Morning Sunshine

Morning Sunshine

I slowly open my eyes; I hear a buzzing sound coming from my bedside table. I glance over at my clock. Its 6:30 am, time to get up. I slowly remove the thick covers and instantly feel all the warm air escape. I stand up and feel a sharp pain in my neck, like knives are stabbing at me over and over again. Typical, I begin to roll my neck around until the feeling starts to subside. I walk over to my closet, I barely care what a look like.
But today was a special day. My parents and I moved to California this year; that means it’s my first day of senior year, at a completely new school.
I picked out a sundress covered in sunflowers; I remember it to be yellow… But now I’m not quite sure. I slipped it on and looked in the mirror. My straight hair fell down and bounced into place. I remember how it used to shine in the sun… It used to be golden brown, I wonder if it’s changed at all since I last saw it. My eyes used to be blue, I think they still are.  I have full lips, and I’m fairly skinny. At least I can count on those two features, even if I don’t know the exact color…
I picked up my hairbrush and slowly brushed through my hair. I sighed; I already knew I was going to hate this. Why even try? No, I have to try… At least for my family. I put in what looked like clear diamond earrings in. Then I applied a coat of mascara.
This is good enough. I murmured.
I heard my phone buzz so I went back to my bed and picked up my phone. I got a text from Alice and Claire, my friends from my old school.
Alice:
Have fun at school! Tell me if there are any cute guys! ;)
Claire:
Yeah, don’t hog them all! I call dibs on at least one hottie! >:)
Sky:
Don’t worry I’m not planning on falling in love anytime soon…
After that I put my phone away not really caring what the answer would be. After all, no guy could ever like a girl like me.
I walked down the stairs to get some breakfast. Of course my mom had already made me eggs, pancakes, and a milk shake. “Hi sweetie!” Eat up before it gets cold.” I sat down on my favorite wood chair. It was different from all the others. It wasn’t as high as all the other chairs, its legs were shorter. It was special. I ate a couple fluffy eggs, and picked at the pancakes. “Honey you need to eat something…” “I’m not very hungry…” I murmured. I got up and left, I could see my mom was frowning. But I barely cared; I quickly grabbed my backpack and put all of my school supplies in it.
I walked down the stairs and went to my bus stop to hopelessly wait for the bus that would bring me to hell.

I agree with dancerforever_forever! You have to make more, if it's not too much trouble... :)
