Darkness

The ink black sky stretches out as far as the eye can see. Paths of obsidian pave the way to the many buildings. Everyone has a pale face and is clothed in cloths looking to be woven out of the deepest night. Choruses hum in deep voices on the sides of streets, heads lowered. Silver discs whirl through the air, carrying messages to anyone who needs one. Children throw blades to each other in an odd game. Men in suits stride along the pathways, making eye contact with no one. Women clothed in black robes carefully weave past the pedestrians, delivering baskets of cloth or goods. Bats fly in from every direction, and snakes hiss warnings to small children.


Light

Golden floors line the way to topaz buildings. The sun blazes high in the sky, lighting everything up. Tour buses lead travelers to the spectacular sunsets and wondrous sunrises. Children eat honeycombs on the side of the road. Couples propose to one another, using golden rings with topazes embedded in them. Pixie dust is sold on the streets by vendors, cheerfully greeting everyone with a smile and wave. Happiness seems to be everywhere. Jolly music rings out from stores, where jewels and precious metals are sold. Everyone is richly dressed, looking like royalty. Golden bread is given away for free by storeowners, beaming at the world.
