Chapter 2.

Demon Island

Alistair and the Demon Man look at me, waiting for me to stand. Their stares hit me like daggers, as I can not stand on my own. Alistair sighs and extends his hand, as if he's going to help me. I slowly reach up, but hesitate. What will happen, if I grab his hand for help? He is a Demon. What if he suddenly attacks me? Alistair sniffs the air.
"Don't be afraid, I can smell your fear," He orders. The Demon Man then too, begins to sniff, his eyes turning red, looking at me greedily. I squeal, pushing myself up and taking a step back. That look in his eyes. My breathing speeds up rapidly. Alistair whacks his arm across the Demon Man's stomach.
"Hey, you rascal!" The Demon Man begins. "Why are we even helping her?"
"Last time I checked, Kaizer, helping her was YOUR idea,"
"Oh, yeah, right sorry," Kaizer, a rare name. I take another step back, fear surging through me.
"I-I think I-I'm gonna stick to myself!" I squeal, I can't muster the confidence that I need to speak with ease.
"You're not going to survive long without our help," Alistair explains.
"And why is that?" I question whilst crossing my arms.

I have to be! At the moment I don't have the energy to open my eyes, but then, if this is a dream, why do I feel so jaded? And why can I smell salt water and the open air? I feel a hand on my shoulder, which turns my blood to ice, a jolt of energy bursts through me as my eyes snap wide open. I'm greeted by Alistair leaning over me. His eyes widen at my sudden awakening.
"WHAT are you DOING?!" I scream, rolling away to the side.
"Checking if you're ALIVE!!" Alistair screams.
"Well DON'T! It's scary..." Alistair's eyes flash red. I jump back in fear once again. He stands up and brushes the sand off of his clothes and hands, walking towards me. He extends his arm to help me up. I slap it away violently.
Cold, so cold.
His skin is like snow. Fair and cold. For a few seconds, Alistair, looks frightful...
