The Teenage Rebel

The Teenage Rebel

Name is Camel, yeah I know weird name right? Blame the parents not me. I'm only 14, and a freshman. Little bratty I got to admit, but hey what else would you expect from a girl who lives my life? Although, I'm not describing my appearance, just imagine the prettiest girl you ever saw and make her...prettier. Anyway, you want to know my story? Read.

Chapter 4.
Day 4: Dance date?

Day 4: Dance date?

Friday
I wore foundation and concealer to hide my slap mark and I tried my best to be a little distant, I won't break down. Not again..(long story). Unfortunately, Jessica walked next to me. "Hey, there's this new label going around, its high heel or sneaker" she whispered. "What?" I demanded. "Yeah there starting to label them off. You, me, and Fiona are high heels, Chloe was a sneaker.." She whispered, " I really think that's weird, why put more labels than they already have?" I asked only getting a shrug from Jessica. I knew what she meant, it's high school.

"Anyway, are you going to go to the dance in 3 weeks? Oh, what am I kidding of course you are! Did you get a date?" Jessica asked. "Oh..right! I totally forgot about that..the Valentines Dance... Well, I haven't got a date yet.." I replied awkwardly. "What?! No dang way, YOU have to get a date! It is major for your reputation, what about. Ethan, or maybe Scott the jock, Oh! Or Jake!" Jessica suggested. "Um. I don't know, Ethan is way too obedient, Scott is way too dumb, Jake is..well to creepy." I complained. Fiona suddenly walks by and said, "Guess who got a date with Scott?" She announced. " No way!" Said Jessica " I know!" Replied Jessica. Chloe walked by as well with 5 heavy textbooks. "Here let me help you with that," I offered and grabbed 3 textbooks. "Thanks, I heard you guys were talking about the dance, I got a date with Dane!" She said excitedly. Dane is basically Ethan's puppy or sidekick. "Great. Now I'm the only one without a date" I said sadly.

At lunch, we were served spaghetti, salad, and orange juice or only a couple of bucks. We sat at our usual table. Just as a conversation was about to start, Ethan walked over with a bouquet of jasmine flowers and said, "Camel Riles, will you got to the dance with me?" with a complete confident voice. "Um...erm..." I glanced at my friends who were doing big hand gestures, thumbs up, 2 hands rolling together, and big wide smiles. Just as I was going to reply Jake walked over with one rose in hand, clearly mad " Camel, do you want to go to the dance with me instead?" He offered. " um" was the only thing I could get out until Justin (Scott's best friend) came over with a bouquet of rose and tried to push the others aside " What about me? Eh? You, I dance?" He said coolly.  This was not happening. Tommy the skater stood on a table and yelled " Yo cutie Camel! Go to the dance with me eh?" A jock started to mock them "Hey, sweetie? Want to go to the dance with me sweetheart?" "Uh, um, erm" I struggled for words.

"No, I'm not going to the dance with any of you! Ugh." I announced and the day went on, with my day turning upside down.
