The Rehab
She took another step, this time with her bad side. She cried out, and fell. EJ picked her up. "You need rest." She shook her head. "No! I want to walk." EJ nodded. "But do that again and we're done." Rose nodded. "Fine." She stepped with the same foot. She winced, and her hand fell to his shoulder. "No more... No! I have to keep... Going..." EJ picked her up. "You said it yourself. No more." She rolled her eyes. "I want to fall asleep in your arms again. It's been so long." She sighed."Why is it me? I feel like nothing will prove me to you." EJ shook his head. "No." He slid his hand from her waist to her cheek. She shivered, and blushed. "Darn." EJ laughed, and kissed her. "It's midnight." She nodded. She curled up in his arms. She was about to fall asleep, and EJ kissed her, saying, "Happy Birthday, my Black Rose." She slept.
When she awoke, EJ had a cupcake in his arms. She stood up. Or tried to. She winced, and fell back on the bed. EJ smiled, and helped her. "It's your birthday." She offered EJ some, but he wasn't hungry. After, he led her outside. The process was slow, so Je just picked her up. She squealed, laughing. EJ fixed his mask with one hand. He put her down in the living room, and when she got settled, she looked at him. "Wha-!"
Broken hugged her. "Surprise." She hugged back. "Thanks." Everyone settled down, and both Sally and Jane raced out of the room. EJ took Rose's hand. "Don't. They know what they're doing." She nodded, and relaxed. When they're came back, they had a cake in their hands. There were no candles, probably for good reason. Everyone sang, and she blushed. "You didn't have to! Really!" Splendy came up to her. "Yeah, we did." He whispered. "Slendy's on edge, and we want you to have fun! Happy Birthday, Black Rose."
