Why?

Cassandra: My mom just called.
Andrew: And?
Cassandra: She's caught a severe permanent sickness.
Andrew: Oh. Well what's gonna happen now?
Cassandra: I want to help her, but she lives so far away, 42 miles away.
Andrew: So is she gonna die?
Cassandra: She possibly could! That's why I'm  going to live with her. I have to.
Andrew: Baby, please! Don't move!
Cassandra: I really don't want to, but I have to! She can't live by herself!
Andrew: Can someone else live with her! Like your Dad?!
Cassandra: ... My Dad... is in a better place. In heaven.
Andrew: Oh....
Cassandra: I'm the only one.
Andrew: Cassy. Please don't leave. Let me come with you!
Cassandra: No. Remember my Mom doesn't like you.
Andrew: Cassy I will never be able to see again!
Cassandra: You can always call me, or face time me.
Andrew: I won't  be able to hug you again! Or kiss you ever again...
Cassandra: Look, Andrew. I need my mom. I don't necessarily need you!
Andrew: ...
Cassandra: I'm  sorry but-
Andrew: No, I understand... You can leave... Just never return!
Cassandra: I- I- You know what, just- (walks away)
Andrew: I didn't need you anyway!

After that Cassy never returned.. To her boyfriend... or her mom...
