Announcements- Fenix

After she got into the school Fenix was ushered into the auditorium for the school announcements. It was only students, the parents weren't invited, and everyone looked on edge. Fenix twirled her lavender braid around her finger. This was as nerve wracking as it was strange. She had no place in this school. Everyone she knew, every teacher, every student, agreed. Well, all except one. Fenix 's English teacher had recommended her for this school. The man had claimed that Fenix was truly gifted in her manipulation and people skills. Fenix disagreed. The ability to annoy every teacher to the fullest extent could hardly be counted as a talent. Still, she wasn't complaining. She looked around at the tables placed around the auditorium where chairs were supposed to be and plopped her stuff down next to a beat up looking boy and an intensely nervous girl. The girl reached out a hand.
" I'm Rin." She said. " I'm basically having a mental breakdown right now." Fenix half smiled awkwardly.
" Fenix." The boy smiled at her and turned to speak.
" I'm Jacob! What's your name?" Was this guy kidding?
" I told you. I'm Fenix."
" Darn! And I had practiced too!" Fenix was confused.
" I'm Jacob. Outdoorsy guy, sports player, human being. I'm excited to fail with you." Wow. This guy certainly was something. Fenix turned to Rin.
" So Rin. Are you excited to be here?"
Rin stared at her.
" Of course not!" She yelled. " This just another way for brats like Elizabeth to feel better about themselves!" Fenix was confused.
" Elizabeth?" She asked.
" Shhhh." Said a brunette at the table closest to the stage. " Announcements are starting."
" Her." Rin replied with a shiver.
