1. Who are you a fan of?
I'm a fangirl of a LOT of things, but the biggest one right now... It would have to be AKB48, by a landslide.
2. What is your favorite song by them?
Favourite song... I hate you for making me choose just one. But fine, I'll choose... It would probably have to be "Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai".
3. Name 3 reasons why you like them.
Reason 1 - A lot of their songs have powerful messages behind them, and when accompanied by the motivating beat, it really pushes you to be better. Prime example, River.
Reason 2 - The fact that you can actually go and MEET them and SHAKE THEIR HANDS (if you go to Japan that is) proves that they don't separate themselves from the fans, unlike other artists in the world.
Reason 3 - When I first heard their songs... Let's just say I was instantly hooked. They're not the typical Asian songs that just take an American song and make it their own. They actually compose the music from scratch. The same can't be said for K-Pop though...
4. Name 3 fun facts about them.
Three facts? Alright, challenge accepted.
1 - Nowadays, new singles in the Senbatsu series are voted by fans, but before the elections started in 2009, the members who performed in the single was decided by AKB's Administration team.
2 - One member, Miori Ichikawa, always refers to herself as a "Fresh Lemon". In fact, in the 2011 Senbatsu Sousenkyou, she ranked 39th (in the Under Girls section) and encouraged the audience to chant her "Fresh Lemon" motto with her - "Fresh Lemon ni naritai no~" which means "I want to become a Fresh Lemon."
5. How long have you been a big fan of them?
Picture this - it's a week before the London Anime and Gaming Con. I'm sleeping over at my best friend's house, and we both want to watch an anime. She introduced me to the band AKB48 through their anime, AKB0048. After we watched 7 episodes before going to sleep, she tells me that the anime stood out from other band animes, because it stuck to the true followings of the band it was made for, and that really surprised me. So when I got home the following day, I did a little research on the actual band, and listened to some of their songs. I was amazed at it all, and I couldn't stop listening to their songs, or watching their anime.
And then a month later was when I realised that members of the band actually VOICED in the anime! (They held auditions for this, and nine members were chosen to voice everybody's favourite Trainees)
Hm- I've never heard of AKB48. I'll have to listen to some of their songs!
