Chapter 3.

Ghosts and Green Mist

I suddenly found myself on the deck of the S.S. Dreamboat. Green mist swirled around me, and beyond the ship, there was nothing but a very empty black void. It looked as if the ship was floating on darkness. And maybe it was, I thought with a shudder. When I took a few steps, I felt like I was walking on clouds. My foot bumped into some of the mist, and I discovered that it was much more solid than what I thought it to have been. I tried to pick up a glob of mist, but as soon as my hands managed to grasp it it seemed to dissipate into real vapor.
Just then, I spotted three pale figures below the wide balcony I was standing on. I recognized them as people from my class: Happy-Annoying-Joy-Joy (fake name), Grinner (yet another fake name), and...my crush, Shorty (you probably guessed it's a fake name as well, and btw, "Shorty"'s not my crush anymore.).
What happened next was pretty weird. HAJJ (Happy-Annoying-Joy-Joy) and Grinner were looking up at me and seemingly taunting me because I had a crush on Shorty.
My stomach churned. How could they have found out?! I was speechless for a moment, but I regained my nerve and blurted out, "I do NOT! And to prove it, here you go!"
Almost involuntarily, I snatched a large rock from the deck that seemed to have been there for this very purpose. I aimed carefully and tossed the stone at Shorty, who was walking around on the deck and didn't seem to notice us until now.
It went through the air in a slow arc, landing finally on Shorty's head. I was about ready to faint. Shorty could be seriously injured. And it was all my fault. What was I thinking?!
But fortunately, the rock only seemed to irritate him. It broke into little clots of mist that floated away. Shorty whirled around, trying to spot the culprit. I shrank back, hoping he wouldn't see me. But he did. His eyes met mine, and that's when I woke up.

I had a dream like that once, except it was in a broken down castle in the middle of no where
