I have a Secret!

Let me tell you a secret. I am a demon, cursed to live like this in a mortal body. I am Ali also known as NInshaku. I was born a normal child, until the apocalypse, my reign of power until I was defeated. Witch hunters put a spell on my soul so I wouldn’t be able to come back as myself again.
   I was only a baby when the witch hunters came into my room and cast a soul trap spell on me. They trapped a devil inside of me thinking that I would grow up to use his power for good. They were wrong. He manifested only to be stronger in my body. The only other way he can contact the world is through my shadow. He protects me in a way but has cursed me and all I come near. I didn’t ask for this, he always tells me what to do even when I don’t want to. I’ve tried to fight back but when I do he takes control of my body. I tried to make friends but it always ends up badly. He can shape into anything for the good or bad. I just want to get rid of him even if it means taking my life.
   It was a dark night with a new moon in the sky. I was three then and the demon had full control. He walked me into a small town and into an old house that looked abandoned. He made me slaughter the family. He made me dark, he made me grow into his form and kill the parents. I watched as he lifted his finger and slit the people’s throats, they couldn’t even scream for their lives. I had to watch their lives slip away. We heard a faint whimper and turn to the door. A little girl about my age then with bright red hair and emerald eyes witnessed her parents murder. I tried to tell her to run but it came out in his voice as, “Your next,” and she ran. I never saw her again and I never spoke of that night it was too horrible even for me.
   I heard about a guild for the people with special abilities and that you can make friends no matter what so I set out to this place. It was a great blessing. I don’t tell anyone about shadow because I don’t know what they will think. I am a good person when I’m in control but I am dark always because of my shadow.
   I met Katt on my first day and I couldn’t feel shadow’s pull anymore so I decided that this was a good place. There was another girl by the name of Akari and that was when I couldn’t move without shadow. It was like our lives were connected. Does shadow know this girl? Did he hurt her? Did I hurt her?
   I will make it better and help anyone I can if it means killing me, but I don’t want to put these people’s lives in danger. I want friends I can be a friend, but I hurt people, I hurt myself. I want shadow gone, I want to live in the light and be free. I am cursed to live in darkness, to be a slave to the devil and hurt the people I love. Let me be myself. Let me be…FREE!
