1st hunger games (new)

chapter 1

Year 3918 (age 12)
I duck under the large glass window that is attached to one of the peace keepers houses, I slowly lift my head and see a small plump man sitting at a round wooden table he is by himself, he looks out the window I am looking into and I duck quickly, I hear steps coming closer, I feel something rough under my hand. I pick it up and through it as far away from me as possible, it brakes near the window 3 rooms down. The peace keeper looks startled and walks away from the window. I sigh and wait a little just in case he comes back. After a few minutes of waiting in pitch black I stand up carefully but I duck once again when I hear a phone go, the ringtone these rich people have is deafening! The man picks up the phone and smiles ‘yes I would love to! I’ll be out in a minute!’                                                                                                                                         
I smile to myself as I hear his front door go and hides the key to his house on the top of a plant pot this day couldn’t get any better! I think as I carefully creep towards the pot and snatch the keys, I check behind me just in case someone is watching me, and quickly unlock the glass door, I stop, this house is the biggest house I have ever seen in my life it’s so beautiful! The others in the cave will be so annoyed and jealous, I wish I could—snap out of it! If you don’t hurry up you will be caught and you know what would happen if you were! I think and im right. I jog towards the kitchen and see food everywhere and I can’t help myself, I open my potato sack and fill it with everything I can see. Food; it had been ages since I have seen it, ages since I have said the word, but then I hear a low pitched voice ‘what the hell happened here!’ followed by ‘who’s in my house!’ and I have no choice but to drop everything and out the nearest window, but I have to bring something to the cave, so I grab the closest item to my hand and run, I hear angry screams as I run as fast as I can towards the cave In the woods. When I’m sure that I am a good few miles from the house I look to see what I managed to steal, a loaf of bread, I get tempted to eat it right now and It takes all my reluctance to leave it alone because I might be able of trade it for something better, but I can see that it has started to crumble, unless there is a dumb newbie thief in the cave I doubt any one will trade with me but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see,
I’m not too far away from the woods now, I keep running and bump into a few people on the way, thank goodness none of them were peace keepers, they look at me in disgust and say ‘mind were you’re going girl!’ and of course if I had a name they would’ve said my name, district 7 isn’t that big so we know who most people and my heart sinks, I’m sick of having no name so I always say ‘if you looked more closely you would’ve seen me coming man’ or woman if it was,
I run into the woods and hear the twigs I’m stepping on snap loudly, I am starting to get tired so I stop one more time to check the bread I stole and to my disgust it is crumbling like crazy no one will want to trade but I will save it just in case,
I am the only girl who is a thief and the youngest so if you also put the fact I have no name, of course I would get picked on, but one day, any day I will prove to them that I am better than they think I am, better than them if anything, and I was so close to doing so today if I remembered to lock the door once I was inside that magnificent house,
I sigh and get up ready to go to the cave once again. And I’m there finally and I want to go as quickly as possible I am tired and want to go home, as I’m about to enter I am greeted by Tedry, my only friend,
