What're You Hoping For? || A Zachary Sayle/Toursies Story

There aren't many (or any) Newsies stories on here, so I took the liberty of adding one that I've been working on for a while. It's a ship between my character, Faith Flaherty, and Zachary Sayle, who played Crutchie in the first North American tour of Newsies.

What're You Hoping For? || A Zachary Sayle/Toursies Story
Chapter 11.
.:11:.

.:11:.

Zachary’s P.O.V. (surprised?)
To begin the guy’s day that I was dragged into involuntarily, we obviously got coffee. It was too early.
“So what do you guys even want to do?” Sky asked me and Ben as we were walking down the street. I threw my hands up in surrender.
“Don’t ask me!” I exclaimed. “You guys dragged me into this against my will!”
“You didn’t have to come!” Ben exclaimed. “We didn’t drag you out of the hotel!”
“You were getting coffee! I didn’t know you were actually gonna go through with this!”
        “Why wouldn’t we?!” Sky exclaimed.
“Guys, can we not yell?” Ben asked. “We’re getting some really weird looks from people.” I looked around. Sure enough, people were looking at us like we were insane, which, I mean, they’re not wrong.
“So, let’s start over,” Sky said. “What would you two like to do?” I shrugged. The Bacon Song by Bemular started playing out of Ben’s phone and he answered it.
“Hello?” he answered. “We’re out . . . . we just went to Starbucks . . . . no, we aren’t just getting Starbucks. Stephanie and Faith are having a girls’ day, so we decided to have a guys’ day . . . . no, we didn’t think about that . . . . well, we were the only boys there, so it was just us . . . . okay, Josh! We’ll come get you!” He hung up and turned to us. “We have to go back and get Josh.”
“Oh, was that who that was?” I asked, rhetorically. As we walked back to the hotel, I hung back
from the other two until Sky dropped back.
“So what’s up with you?” he asked. “Finally admitting to yourself that you like my sister?” I looked at him and shook my head violently. Liar, a little voice inside myself said.
        “N-n-no!” I exclaimed.
        “Zach,” Sky started, stopping me.
“What’re you doing?” Ben asked. Sky looked at him.
“I’m feeling a little tired,” Sky said. “You go on ahead and get Josh, then come back and get us.” Ben nodded and walked on. Sky sighed and sat me down on the bench. “Zach, look.” He sighed. “I live with Faith. I know her, and I know that she is exactly the kind of girl you would like.”
        “I know,” I said, giving in. “I just . . . I-I-I don’t know! I-I mean, Ben likes her, she knows that, and . . .” I sighed.
“What?” I looked up at him, my eyes watering.
“A-and I think she likes him, too.” I looked at the ground as Sky wrapped me in a hug.
“Zach, listen to me,” he said. I looked back up at him. “Faith . . . is a difficult person. She’s had trouble with guys before, and she’s cautious, but I think, if you tell her, she’s more likely to say yes than if you don’t.” I sighed. He was right. I didn’t even know why I was denying it to Sky. Somewhere, I knew that I liked Faith. I think I had since I heard Ben talking about her.
“You’re right,” I said. “I mean, what’s the harm? If she doesn’t, it’s just gonna be super awkward for me and my best friend, right?” He nodded, then doubled back.
“Wait, did you say your best friend?” I nodded. “Are you talking about Ben or Faith?” I thought.
“Well, I was thinking Faith,” I said, “but I guess it would be true for both.” He frowned.
“I am offended that your best friend is not me but my sister.” I laughed and then saw Ben and Josh walking up behind Sky.
        “Hey, guys!” I yelled.
“Hi, guys!” Josh yelled back. “What were you guys talking about?” I panicked.
“Nothing important,” Sky said. “Just talking about what to do now.” I sighed. Thank you, Sky!
“We should go to American Eagle!” Ben exclaimed.
“How did I know you were gonna say that?” Sky asked.
“You know that’s my closet,” he replied. “You have no reason to be surprised.”

Faith’s P.O.V.
After me and Stephanie finished Into the Woods, we went to the mall.
“Okay,” she said. “Where do you wanna go first?” I shrugged, then perked up.
“Wait!” I exclaimed. “One of my shirts ripped! I need to get a new one!” She nodded.
“Where’s it from?” I thought for a second.
“American Eagle.” She nodded. “Where is that?”
        “Upstairs. Let’s go!”

I would use that--in fact I have unfinished stories on there under CrutchieMorris--but I can only access it on my kindle, on which the internet no longer works.
