No one knows but my theory is that either strong gales or a strange magnetic/ gravitational pull is moving them.

They get picked up by glaciers, scrape the ground when the glaciers move, and get deposited when the glaciers melt.

I think that, since Death Valley is on/close to a fault line, the rocks are magnetized to the tectonic plates (not the ground shell; maybe the top layer doesn't move with the tectonic plates because it's so hard??) and they move with the plates. ?? Idk XD

I think its the wind. I live near Death Valley, about 200 miles away from Death Valley, I visited Death Valley, It was 26 degrees.
