Advice on giving a speech
Ok so I have a speech contest here in florida and what happens is in every sixth grade class we do a speech and present it and speak the speech and then the class votes for who they think should represent the class. Well when I did do my speech I was shaking I was really nervous and I have stage fright well I guess I did pretty good on it cause i got chosen well now I have a bigger crowd to present in front of any advice the speech is on friday

U know they already like u and uv already done the hard part they're there to listen to u. Also. Ur in sixth grade as long as nothing drastic happens everyone will just breeze by it. I'm a performer so some tips I use to get my nerves down is no one is gonna tell u u did bad, which ur probably didn't do anyways, everyone will forget after a while, as long as u get through it no one judges u. Ull b fine! Ask if u want more tips!

Thanks I was a bit sad when i didn't get first but then I saw how happy James was so i went over and shook his hand and told him he did great and he did besides at least i placed :D

Well i couldn't figure out how to adjust the mic so i just took it off and held it in my hand but i moved a card and it got mixed up and i couldn't find my 4th index card and i paused for like 20 seconds and i think got points deducted but i at least placed my friend james got 1st so im happy for him

if its allergies no. and if youre really worried about it prepare a joke about it. then ull get extra poinrts. so like SNEEEEZE "Spring is here!" everyone laughs resume. if they dont life just move on your teacher will understand :)

i'll be sure to do so! By the way one of my biggest fears about it is the crowd and i have allergies to pollin so now i have a stuffy nose sneeze and cough do you think i will get points taken away if i sneeze or cough in the middle of my speech?

just play it cool and relax. moving can actually give u more nerves but standing stick still is not a good idea

Interacting with the crowd is always good but dont fidget or pace or move incessantly the audience will focus more on that than ur speech

Just remember to look up and keep in mind u know what ur talking about. Too often I see people holding note cards that say approximately one word and yet for the entire time they're just staring at the card.

if ur point was to make people realize how bad animal testing is, tthen scaring them is just fine; i kno that sounds awful but when make philosophical pieces people will have strong mixed emotions towards it.

Ya one more there is going to me an entire three 5th grade classes and the entire 6th grade some people in my class said that my speech scared them is that good or bad my speech is on animal testing and Thank you for the advice
