I personally think that the main step is to tell someone as they can help support you through this hard time, for example by telling family or friends they can seek professional help to prevent this and remove the pressure from around you. By telling school they can give you lenience and someone to confide in privately. Counselling can also do this and can find the darker cause of this problem for you individually which can give so much support and make you feel yourself again.
