so I've mentioned this briefly on here before, but I've never really gone in depth about it ever?
here goes
this is somewhat embarrassing to me. it's like a secret I've been trying to hide from everyone I know. I'm on the autistic spectrum.
that feels weird to type out. I only found this out like,, 2ish years ago when I got a psych eval done, and that was one of many diagnosis, lol. mine is very low on the spectrum, but ever since I got diagnosed, I've been afraid to tell anyone See More because I don't want to be the "autistic girl". I know that sounds bad, bc there are people who have it way worse than I do, but I'm afraid that my opinions and beliefs will be considered irrelevant simply because I'm autistic. I'm very political (if you haven't noticed), but I worry that if my opponent in a political argument knows I'm on the spectrum, they might disregard my points because I'm "autistic" (as a slur).
not to mention that beyond all this, I constantly worry about people noticing me stimming, but thankfully my stims are fairly normal looking to someone who doesn't know. (ex: I crack my knuckles constantly, even when I just did it, I'll do it over and over when I'm feeling anxious as well)
and ig this explains my "obsessions" (special interests)
I get really sucked into things and I just go full force with it until I find something else. You probably have noticed that on here with my current MCR "phase" and my 7 year long love of Dan and Phil
now I'm going say it. I hate being autistic. I hate bringing myself, the autistic kid, into fandoms and communities I like. Not every phannie or killjoy is autistic, so I hate that people might assume that after meeting me. I don't want to hurt people I care about by making outsiders thing that their community is for autistic people.
and I know theres nothing wrong with being autistic, but at the same time, it's hard to really believe that.

i'm starting to suspect i have autism too- i havent had a full psych evaluation but ive been diagnosed with a few other things and there are still things i do that dont align with ocd, or adhd, or a neurotypical person's mind. my mom even said she thinks i could have it.
