It might have to do with, like, how much a person makes compared to what they normally do
You regularly do all this stuff, so the algorithm counts it as average
Inactive or short term users don't, so the algorithm counts it as a bigger deal

On mobile, some people have headers behind their username and profile picture, and for some it's just blank- is this something I can change?

The profile photo on the mobile Wall is displayed only if it is big enough, so it can be displayed nicely on most phones using the entire screen width.
