i'm practicing drawing my actual body type because i've always drawn myself as thinner than i am, even when i'm not doodling a funny thing. i'm sick of it.
i don't draw myself as thin to look "pretty", i do it because i don't want to be sexualized or accused of fetishizing/ sexualizing the body type i'm drawing (even though it's mine). i also don't want people to think i'm "trying to be something i'm not" by drawing myself with my curves. i'm trying to be more positive about the body i have but it's hard when it's so fetishized and/or sought after. i am a person (an underage person at that), i didn't ask for that kind of attention. i don't want it. i shouldn't be seen as less of a person because i've got big thighs. i've been cat-called in fu cking 5th grade by high schoolers. hell, i've been cat-called now by adults. my ex only "loved" me because of how i looked. i've had my thighs grabbed and ass slapped by a student i knew and i do not like it. i just didn't want to see any uncomfortable comments because of the body type i was born with.
but, i'm gonna try to draw myself more accurately now. i'll make efforts to be more comfortable drawing my body type. my body is my body and i accept it, i won't let sickos have control over me. i'm tired of it.
