My eldest stepbrother, let’s call him Chad, is going through Basic training for the army. He’s graduating this weekend
BUT
I can’t see him due to being sick and my family is like “we don’t wanna go see him sick so”

I’ve been in a similar situation.
My grandfather came to visit us a few times before he left, but I was too sick to see him, it was really unfortunate.
