When you say all men or trash or all women are hoes or whatever you say, when you include that word “all” then you’re talking about each of them. Even the ones who it doesn’t apply to. Stop normalizing the misuse of words and vocabulary.
If you say “Men are trash” or “women are hoes” then that’s valid, bc it doesn’t mean See More▼ you’re referring to all of them but it still can be taken that way.
Example, if someone says, “Black people are ghetto” a black person can rightfully call them out because that’s still calling out a group of people.
I don’t know many gay people who will pass a post right by when someone says “gay people don’t deserve rights.”
If a gay person calls them out then would it be okay for the original poster to say “Well, it should be obvious I’m not talking about all gay people. But since you said something this must apply to you.” No, by saying that this person was calling out anyone who identifies as gay.
This applies to everything. If you say men or women are trash you are calling out that entire group rather you mean it or not. If you say black or white people are terrible you are calling out that entire group rather you mean it or not. Stop gaslighting culture, please.
