like, what did black people ever do?
i feel like we have the worst stereotype of "ghetto" "drug dealers" "the men leave their baby mamas" "hoes" "no education" and a lot more. why do some people feel uncomfortable around black people? in england, if you're black and drive a nice car, you'd probably be stopped several times because they think you're a pimp or drug dealer.
what did we do to get these labels? sometimes, i look in the mirror and feel disgusting in my own skin because the way some people profile blacks, and i feel like i'm one of the bad ones. i feel gross because society makes it seem that being black is filthy. that black is an impure color and white is holy and right. sometimes i get mad at my family for not being white. they couldn't help it. i hate being looked at in the hallway at school because i'm one of the VERY VERY VERY few blacks there. i feel like i stand out. yes, i have VERY loving white friends and they're like my 2nd family, and i wouldn't trade them for anything. i just feel terrible about the way i look sometimes. :/
but in all honesty, it makes me want to do more. to stick out from the stereotype and achieve my dream. it's hard being a minority in general (at least, to me) but i can't do anything but leave it in God's hands and let Him lead me. i just hate it.
