if someone says, “wow! i really like XYZ”, you don’t say “XYZ sucks” or “i hate XYZ a lot”
a better approach would probably be “XYZ isn’t my favorite thing but i can see why you like it” or if you have nothing positive to say, don’t say anything at all!! ain’t that hard, actually
nobody wants a negative Nancy floating around because it brings the mood down and it’s irritating
