We do that too which is the weird thing.
We call it “The Boat Note”
And there was one time that the school got completely fûcked up because there was apparently a bomb on campus and evacuation ensued.

Because of the way the period system works, we stayed in band for pretty much the rest of the day. While we were in band, the PA system decided to yeet and it made this horrible, loud, annoying ringing. Like the “You have five minutes until class starts so haul your ass to first period” bell but stuck on repeat.
Well, Saxes being Saxes, we almost immediately figured out that the sound was a trill on G# and A.
