I hate it when I'm reading a book and when a character comforts another character they go "don't worry, they can't hurt you anymore" like the person may not physically be there but that person still has the trauma from that and their in the characters mind, instead you should say something like "I won't let him hurt you" it gives a character a sense of safety and trust
