I had a dream that I was a witch and I was running away from something by a fiery, gliding horse and I remember I had a spiritual connection with my horse and he got tired and something caught us
It was scary
This is my second dream about being a witch

Tbh, I believe it’s okay to give your characters a tragic background in a way that is respectful. Don’t be like the idiots that make the Creepypasta characters and throw in a tragic backstory to make you sympathetic for the killer. No, child and/or sexual abuse is not okay and shouldn’t happen to anyone, and it shouldn’t be used as a key point for their behavior unless it’s done in a way that’s respectful. Actually research the effects of traumatic situations, and if you can’t stomach it, don’t write about it because you’ll only be shooting in the dark. There can be other motives that allow a person to kill other than childhood trauma. Killers can be born into a healthy family, but still torment animals and pull on little girls’ hair because they think it’s funny to see them cry. Maybe they hit their head as a teenager or a young adult. They could’ve understood morals before, but because their frontal lobe was damaged, they see things in all red. Maybe they did it to rebel against an organization or religion. Maybe they just did it. Sometimes, it’s never pre-meditated. There’s no guidelines on how to write a murderer, but don’t just fall back on traumatic childhood experiences. It’s unoriginal in my opinion. The only exception I have to that, however, is maybe if they’re not in their early to mid teens (12-16). That’s just the work of a Creepypasta writer.
