I seriously never noticed that and I love cats. I have three of them. Cats were around me for my whole life.

I think it's something to do with the arrangement of the muscles in their jaw. I learnt about in in Science class.

Yes a little bit it yawns like a baby would the tongue rolled up to block any food or hairs that might fly out while yawning that's all.
