A sport is defined as an activity that involves physical exertion, is competitive, and has a set of rules.
Marching band is VERY exerting, believe me.
We do compete. It's not like, two bands out on the field, but we do compete.
There are a set of very strict rules regarding how we must march, where we have to be, what we have to play, the lis t goes on.

Well actually, we do run. It's not like, slow marching. Especially the drum major. He has to run across the field, high stepping.

Hmmm that can be argued due to it having to do with marching around a lot *in the name I know * and playing instruments which is hard to do, but it's not running around like a sport it's like a musical sport in my opinion
