The Breakout

Carlos' POV
Watching a movie can get quite boring with no food or candy so I sent my friend Aideen to the kitchen to pick out some snacks for us. I pause the movie as he leaves so he won't miss anything. Silence. A thumb. Two thumbs. A ear piercing scream blares from outside. I shoot up from my comfy place on the sofa as the TV flickers and turns off.
"Hey Aid! Is that you?" I make my way towards the door and peak round. Okay, this isn't a prank and I don't know if I should be happy or not about that. Another scream. "Aideen! Please come out!" I hear a faint yell.
"Carlos!" I run towards the kitchen to see Aideen piling furniture against the front door. "The door!" I see grey hands bashing at the door from the small window. A few arms pushed themselves through the letter box. I grab Aideen and drag him away as the door falls open from its hinges and we run for the fire escape.

Laurane's POV
I laugh at my computer screen as I watch another video on YouTube. Still giggling as it ends I sit up and prepared to watch another video until I hear a faint bump. Furrowing my eyebrows I remove my headphones and spin in my chair.
"Hello?" I call into the darkness. Hearing no reply I turn back to my computer to see the screen flash off. "Great.." I mumble as I look out the window. Everyone is running, why? I see a herd of grey and bloody figures stiffly walk towards the ones running. An audible scream leaves my throat and I scramble off the chair. Another bump from under me and growling. Crap. I need to get out of here. I climb out of my window and run.

Sunni's POV
I was just reading a book when it happened, like a horror movie in real life. A grey figure presses against the window in my room and I scream locking it and closing the curtains. Seconds later banging on my door.
"Go away!" I yell locking my door. Picking up my backpack I turn to find a way out until my door breaks down. I stare into a pair of dull white eyes. "Get back! I said get back!" I scream struggling to make my way back. It runs towards me. "No!" Adrenaline rushing through me I open my wings and fly above it and out the door. There's so many of them. Every now and again I would people call to me begging me to help them but the things were too close, it was too late. I couldn't stop or help. I make my way to the docks. I needed someone I knew and trusted nearby...Carlos! I'll find Carlos and Aideen, god I hope they're safe.

Jackie's POV
I was playing on the Wii with Maria and I was winning! It was fun except for all the noises.
"Maria? You hear that too?"
"Yeah, I'll go check it out, it's probably the neighbours" She explained as she paused the game and wondered out the room. Seconds later a notification popped up on my phone. A news message. 'Illness underground! The mix of stale air and a new fungus growing in coffins makes corpses animate. Get away from major cities. Don't go near them as they're dangerous. If bitten you can too become infected.' My eyes widen with each word.
"MARIA! NO, DON'T GO OUT THERE!" Maria appears in the doorway once again.
"Why?" I hold up my phone and she looks horrified. "We can't stay here" She finally ponders.
"Agreed!" We jump onto the neighbours balcony and slide down their ladder. We run through a crowd seeing our first glances at the zombies.
"Oh god! Oh no! Jackie what is it?! What the hell are they?!" She points at a group of them. I grab her hand.
"Just run! We need to get out of here! Look for Aideen or something! Someone!"
